Airbus Defence and Space in Manching is looking for an experienced
Weight and Balance Engineer (d/w/m)Our team Mass Properties Manching is responsible for all Mass Properties related data which are relevant over the complete product life cycle. You will work for the program Eurofighter Typhoon and other Airbus Defence and Space projects comprising the compilation of a preliminary Mass Breakdown, Mass Control during development and design phases as well as preparation and delivery of relevant Weight and Balance documentation. You will be part of the multidisciplinary environment of Flight Physics and be connected with our international project partners.

Your tasks and responsibilities
Establish and improve Mass Properties prediction, monitoring and control within our actual projects
Harmonization of technical interfaces to other disciplines
Determination of Mass Properties data, based on CATIA models and drawings, including update of related databases
Evaluation of modifications and upgrade packages considering their impact on aircraft centre of gravity
Contribution to Eurofighter Mass Properties Support Team in preparation and supervision of aircraft weighings and subsequent data evaluation
Specification and development of methods & tools ensuring the department’s targets
Ensure and supervise the preparation and update of relevant process documentation and manuals
Desired skills and qualification
Master degree in Aerospace Engineering or similar
3 to 5 years of experience in Mass Properties discipline, Aircraft Design, Stress, MDO or Loads
CAD Experience
Open for acquisition and application of new skills, methods and tools
Willingness for teamwork as well as interdisciplinary & international cooperation, good communication skills and autonomous way of working
Fluent in German and English
