COMPANY:
Los Angeles, CA-based aircraft maintenance business is seeking a VP of Finance or Chief Financial Officer. The Company currently operates one of the largest independent general aviation and business jet maintenance, repair & overhaul (MRO) facilities in the country. The company is backed by a private equity partner to facilitate the company’s rapid growth.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the CEO and Board of Directors, the VP of Finance or Chief Financial Officer is a key member of the senior management team, both in directing the financial function and providing advice and guidance on all financial and administrative matters. The selected individual will be responsible for building and maintaining the financial infrastructure to support a very high growth company including accounting, financial reporting, KPI reporting, budgeting, controls, tax and audit. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable with leading problem solving and hands on work across a broad range of business and operational challenges. The Company’s accounting and HR department will report to this position.
Job Requirements:
The desired candidate is a CPA with five plus years of VP of Finance experience in a small to medium sized company who maintained financial statements on an accrual basis and constantly seeks to identify areas for financial results improvement. Aviation, maintenance or other “job shop” industry experiences are preferred, but not required. Additional experience should include:
  • Proficiency with multiple accounting software systems
  • Producing consolidating and consolidated financial statements with experience in percent completion accounting.
  • Closing the books in accordance with GAAP in a timely manner
  • Managing all A/R and A/P
  • Designing and administering weekly and monthly financial reports for the CEO and Board of Directors
  • Working with a limited support staff.
EDUCATION:
CPA with bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.

COMPENSATION:
Salary and bonus commensurate with market and based on the selected candidate’s experience level and background.
