Position Summary:

Primary duties of this role are to develop tactical and strategic pricing for use in quote and bid preparation in response to customer’s RFQ. You will utilize existing pricing models, historical pricing data and cost estimating tools. You will also perform pricing analysis and present recommendations to sales team management. The successful candidate will prepare and deliver RFQ and Quote metrics in daily review meeting and use this data to drive process improvements.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Receive, review, and process all Requests for Quote (RFQ) from approved customers within 48 hours. Exceptions to this turnaround time metric are for new configurations, new part numbers and large or complex bids.
  • Communicate with customers on any issue or question related to their RFQs.
  • Review customer requests to negotiate pricing and provide recommendations to Account Managers.
  • Work with Account Managers to identify and develop new opportunities.
  • Work with the Customer Service team to respond to customer requests within 48 hours.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards.
  • Ensure pricing is aligned with market conditions while maintaining our margin targets.
  • Update quote metrics with all incoming and outgoing quotes.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with key customers – internal and external.
  • Coordinate with Engineering to review customer drawings as needed to ensure characteristics and technical requirements conform to our product designs.
  • Review costs with Purchasing and Engineering groups to ensure correct cost are used in pricing calculations.
  • Review specifications including technical drawings and bills of material to calculate production costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical data.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience & Education

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor&39;s degree with an emphasis in business, engineering, mathematics or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience pricing and quoting in a manufacturing environment in lieu of education requirement.
  • Must have knowledge, experience and competence in the concepts and standard practices of pricing, quoting and related costing and in a manufacturing business.
  • Must have experience in price negotiation and working with contracts.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in the Aerospace industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience reading and interpreting manufacturing drawings, specifications and other technical documents is strongly preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail to analyze and solve a variety of moderately complex pricing and cost problems.
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to identify market intelligence and or patterns in RFQ’s
  • Strong bias for action with a curious and investigative nature to understand our markets and pricing at a strategic level.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Intermediate skills with MS Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must have extensive experience preparing quotes in an ERP system
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must possess exceptional time management skills, be highly organized and have the proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple pricing projects and deliver on time.
  • Must be able to work extended hours when required.
  • Experience with report writing and presentation preparation is a plus.
  • JD Edwards and / or Syteline ERP system experience is a plus.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $77600 to $116400 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company&39;s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
