Job Description:

The Finance Product Owner (FPO) is a product management function in Financial Applications & Master Management (FA&MM) which supports the Finance Product Manager (FPM) to manage & deliver financial systems enhancements & support for Finance on a global scale, to ensure the provision of best-in-class financial systems, applications & management information for use internally by Finance & across the business, including to inform / enable commercial decisions. The role is also expected to help in the implementation & compliance with the effective policies & processes for financial systems access & master data updates ensuring appropriate control over Groups assets & accurate financial information processing. This role is expected to lead the Finance ERP enhancements and integrations with other applications, by collaborating with cross-functional teams, including IT and other stakeholders to ensure the implementation and project management of initiatives across the Finance application landscape.


In this role, you will: 



  • Ensure effective management & delivery of the FA&MM program backlog leading the product management lifecycle for assigned products (financial application / modules) which includes understanding business process changes, requirements, feature refinement, solution design, user experience definition, personas & process journey mapping, testing, training, and coordinating the delivery of features to production in coordination with IT.

  • Represent the Finance end-user / stakeholders for the assigned products hence the role needs to ensure alignment with respective Technical Product Owners (TPO) for product roadmap management and Scrum Masters (SM) from IT to ensure successful delivery of current Program Increment (PI) plan and support the FPM for PI planning for the respective assigned products.

  • Act as a product specialist on strategic & operational projects across respective working groups for products under responsibility, as and where impacted or need integration with other finance or non-finance applications to deliver wider scoped initiatives. Collaborate with other product owners internally (IT, Finance or outside Finance) and externally (Vendors, Banks) to design integrated solutions for optimized data flow across multiple systems while ensuring the necessary financial controls are in place keeping a wider lens to solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with Service Line Agreements (SLAs) agreed related to application support requests (ASRs) by engaging with IT and respective external vendors & banks, as required. Provide product specialist advice and functional consultancy to the support team on issues, identify product improvements based on a data & insights driven approach on by identifying root causes for recurring issues and fixing them via product enhancements.

  • Ensure alignment of FA&MM processes to all applicable policies for User Access Management & Functional Master Management including but not limited to periodic reviews to ensure a self-checking mechanism on key user access & functional masters within the products under responsibility. Functional masters could include e.g., contracts, supplier, customer, bank masters, etc.

  • Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), user guides and setup / configuration documents for systems (core configuration) & functional masters for financial applications which guides the rest of the team to maintain the respective financial application in good health & ensure accurate financial information processing.

  • Support the training plan driven by FPMs to address identified training needs from across the stakeholder groups to enable better utilization of technology & adoption. A success metric for FPOs is better utilization of the products under responsibility and avoidance of any outside-the-system processes and/or non-standard (customized) solution.

  • Manage and help improve performance of the unit, and provide upskilling opportunities to support talent development. Provide continuous feedback, and facilitate professional development.

Job Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:



  • Finance & Insurance/Finance Management : 5+ Years

  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent): Degree in Technology, Finance or Accounting related would be preferred.


You'll have an edge if you have:



  • Functional product knowledge of Financial Applications highly desired which include but not limited to: ERP Finance (Oracle Financials eBS preferred), Airline Revenue Accounting, Direct Operating Costs, Payment Gateway, Treasury, Planning, Forecasting, Consolidation & Budgeting

  • Reporting / Analytics :Ability to understand the wider impact of financial applications, understand how it fits in the overall technology landscape and how it enables the finance function

  • Basic Accounting & Taxation knowledge - Advanced Operational Finance Knowledge

  • Ability to understand finance processes from a financial applications perspective

  • Experience in handling master management functions, preferably in an airline or aviation group

  • Advanced product management skills
