Purpose of Position

The Financial Analyst II supports programs as assigned through collaboration with department leadership to provide excellent customer service by presenting relevant, accurate, and timely financial data for assigned programs. Must be able to work proactively and take ownership of results.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:



  • Operates the data systems and develops reports based on management criteria which provide accurate and timely information upon which management can base the critical decisions associated with running the company.

  • Preparation and maintenance of budgets, monthly reports, and journal entries.

  • Prepares billing for assigned contracts in accordance with government procedures and guidelines.

  • Reviews purchase requisitions for assigned program for budget availability, proper approvals and assigns the proper charge code. Flags inappropriate expenditures to appropriate budgeting authorities.

  • Compiles the budget for assigned programs and maintains the budget within the computer based financial accounting system and the computer based program management system.

  • Prepares internal and external program cost/schedule and budget vs. actual management reports.

  • Performs Estimate to Complete (ETC) analysis of assigned projects.

  • Reviews contract and subcontractor mods for accuracy.

  • Responsible for tracking Interdivisional Work Requisition (IWR) performance and billings.

  • Prepares reports and analyses as requested for review of the program performance.?

  • Preparation of cost proposals in accordance with company policies and practices and in accordance with government regulations, including but not limited to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), as assigned.

  • Enters pricing information into the pricing system and assists in the preparation of a complete and accurate pricing volume for submittal to FlightSafety’s various customers in accordance with government regulations, as assigned.

  • Assists in the preparation and maintenance of complete documentation on all pricing efforts and supports any audits of the pricing proposals, as required.

  • Assists the Program Control Manager by providing support during Earned Value Management System (EVMS) re-baseline efforts, comprehensive Estimate at Complete (EAC) updates and research and audit projects, as required.

  • Support other special projects and pricing exercises, as needed.

  • Supports special projects and research activities, as needed.

  • Performs other duties, as assigned. Teammates are held accountable for all duties of this job.


Job Requirements:
Minimum Education

Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field, with an emphasis in accounting or finance, or four years, combination of education, experience, and training, in addition to what is listed below.

Minimum Experience

Two to three years of financial experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Working knowledge of Windows applications including Excel and Word.
  • Working knowledge of accounting.

Materials and Equipment Directly Used:

  • Software computer programs, such as Windows applications, Excel, and Word
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint and Cobra is desirable.
  • Excellent computer skills, including data entry.
  • Ability to fluently read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to clearly relay information, both verbally and written, to others.
