We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team and play a key role in ensuring sound financial management and commercial viability within our Digital Directorate.

As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for creating value by guiding strategic decisions that optimise resource allocation and enhance competitiveness in the digital landscape. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will lead the financial strategy for the Digital Directorate, overseeing operational and capital expenditure, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.

Key Accountabilities –

  • Develop and implement the financial strategy for Digital, including operational and capital spend, through negotiation, knowledge sharing, and providing challenging advice.
  • Drive the delivery of planning processes, including monthly, quarterly, and annual results, quarterly forecasting, and annual financial plan setting.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with IAG Finance teams and other relevant colleagues to ensure timely delivery of financial information and support.
  • Lead the review of business cases, supplier cost reduction programs, and ongoing control of capital expenditure projects.
  • Provide strategic input as a member of the Extended FLT group and support the Head of Finance in preparation for management committee meetings and briefing sessions.
  • Effectively manage and lead the direct team, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and adherence to deadlines.

As a Financial Controller, you will have the opportunity to shape strategic financial decisions, drive innovation, and make a meaningful impact on our digital transformation journey.

Key Experience –

  • Accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years PQE.
  • Experience within a large matrix organization, demonstrating the ability to navigate complex structures.
  • Proven track record of managing and leading teams in a professional setting, with a focus on meeting strict deadlines.
  • Preferable: Interest and experience in IT & Digital, providing valuable insights and support.
  • Preferable: Experience using SAP/Hyperion/Anaplan or similar financial software.
