The Space, Intelligence & Weapon Systems (SI&WS) division of Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a high performing Mid-Level Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to support Government Satellite Systems (GSS) in El Segundo, CA or Chantilly, VA.  This program is part of the Space and Launch (SL) division of Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS). 

This exciting role offers the opportunity partner with program analysts and senior leadership across multiple functions, as well as lead and support the financial processes including Long-Range Business Plans (LRBP), Forecasts and Opportunity & Risk Management.  This role supports the Proprietary Satellite Programs within the Boeing Space Mission Systems (BSMS) sub-division and reports to the SI&WS FP&A Manager.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Compiles data from multiple sources (including assumptions and forecast basis of estimates) and develops performance reports

  • Makes recommendations to senior management on financial performance projections using financial and business knowledge and experience

  • Performs variance analyses and provides understanding of financial performance to senior management

  • Develops and supports long range business planning

  • Leads the development of complex business cases and ad hoc analysis

  • Establishes partnerships and relationships with program leadership, peers and functional leaders

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, business or a related field

  • 1+ years of experience in a Finance related position such as Financial Operations, Cost Management, Estimating, Financial Planning, Contracts or Procurement Financial Analysis (PFA)

  • 1+ years of experience using financial analysis for the purposes of decision making

  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate data in Senior Leadership briefings

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience with one or more of the following financial systems: Cognos, Interactive Reporting Environment (IRE), Enterprise Analysis System (EAS), Cost Schedule Performance Reporting (CSPR), Enterprise Planning and Analysis System (EPAS)

  • Experience creating Long Range Business Plans (LRBPs)/Strategy plans

  • Experience creating financial forecasts

  • Experience with Estimates at Complete (EAC)

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years related work experience, 10 years related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range: $85,000 - $105,000
