Senior Analyst Financial Systems 

 

Position Summary

The Senior Analyst Financial Systems is responsible for supporting the Finance team with their systems and reporting needs. In addition, this role coordinates with Finance, IT, and external business partners on systems and reporting related efforts to create efficiencies in operational processes.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provides system administration for accounting related systems and tools (reconciliation, automated journal entries and real estate management tools)
  • Analyze and document business procedures and requirements and provides input on how to create efficiencies in new or existing operational processes
  • Perform scoping, requirements and user acceptance testing (UAT) for system enhancements and implementations
  • Perform project management activities for system enhancements and implementations
  • Develop custom SQL queries and Tableau dashboards to address reporting needs
  • Develop Excel macros to create efficiencies in operational processes where appropriate
  • Assist Financial Reporting team with month-end closing system responsibilities
  • Coordinate with Finance, IT, and business partners on data requirements, data modeling, and data structure design to improve data warehouse (e.g., Snowflake) data relevance
  • Assists Managers and Directors with data-driven or technical projects as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Finance, Business, Accounting or a related area; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
  • Three (3) years of experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP S4/HANA, Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC), etc.)
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and relevant transactional data
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel and some knowledge of VBA/macro development
  • Experience with collecting and documenting business requirements and project management
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts (e.g., Snowflake, SAP BW)
  • Experience with one or more business intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Tableau)
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in MIS, Finance, Business, Accounting or a related area
  • Strong knowledge of report development, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SAP-BPC, or other BI data tools
  • Strong knowledge of extract, transform, load (ETL) techniques
  • Familiarity with SAP or other financial systems
  • Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R)
  • Previous Airline experience

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $64,000.00 and $103,100.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
