Position Summary
STS Technical Services is hiring a Senior Financial Accountant in Savannah, Georgia. This is an onsite, direct hire opportunity supporting a leading organization with a strong commitment to financial excellence and integrity.
In this role, you’ll bring expertise in monthly closing, multi-state sales tax compliance, and audit preparation. You’ll play a vital part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting external audits, and ensuring regulatory compliance across accounting operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts with full supporting documentation
- Review general ledger entries and support the monthly financial close process
- File and review multi-state sales tax returns on a timely basis
- Collaborate with state agencies and support audits related to sales tax
- Assist with annual audit preparation in coordination with external auditors
- Create and maintain audit-ready schedules, work papers, and supporting documents
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to validate and deliver accurate financial data
- Serve as a liaison with external auditors to ensure compliance and transparency
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- 4+ years of accounting experience with emphasis on closing processes and audit support
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Required Skills & Abilities
- Experience with ERP systems
- Familiarity with audit procedures and maintaining relationships with external audit teams
