Job Summary:

The Tax Manager will prepare and review monthly sales tax returns. Assist in the preparation of corporate income tax return; tax research and planning; and tax provision

Principal Duties:

Prepare and/or review monthly sales tax returns in approximately 30 states

Analyze nexus and taxability issues

Assist tax audits and preparation of federal and state corporate income/franchise tax returns

Prepare quarterly estimated income tax payments

Prepare apportionment detail for state income tax calculations

Prepare property and excise tax returns

Review tax depreciation calculations and prepare tax schedules/filing forms

Assist in tax planning and research

Advise subsidiaries and affiliates on local tax filings

Assist with the financial audit and tax provision calculations

Prepare account analysis for tax accounts

Assist in reviewing sales contracts for sales tax planning opportunities/sales tax exposure

Advise on sales tax implications of various transactions

Help maintain tax calendar, includes researching/resolving tax notices and tax exemption certificates

Assist with unclaimed property filing and research

Minimum Qualifications:

Accounting degree

Five (5) years tax experience in public accounting or multistate Corporate Tax Department

Tax return preparation experience

Strong Excel/Windows software skills

Must be hands-on

Good communication skills

Additional Desired Qualifications:

CPA or working towards certification

MS in Taxation

Experience with tax preparation software (SAP, Vertex, CCH tax research materiel, etc.)

Working Conditions:

Extensive computer work

Light lifting/filing required

Copying/scanning documents
