As a Flight Nurse, you will be an essential part of our life-saving missions, providing critical care and medical expertise during air transport to patients in need.
A day in the life:

- Daily Crew Duties (Peer Reviews, Daily Bag Checks, Narcotic Accountability, Hanger/ House Duties, Patient Follow Ups, Daily Crew Call)
- Both attendance and instruction of internal continuing education
- Public Relation Events
- Be familiar and comply with standing medical guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Provide an environment conducive to safety for patients, families, employees, and other healthcare professionals.
Equipment used:
- Aircraft (Including but not limited to: Fixed Wing & Rotor Wing platforms)
- Sled, Stretcher Systems
- Monitoring Devices (Including but not limited to: Zoll Monitors, TOCO, Glucometers)
- IV Regulatory devices (Including but not limited to: Sapphire Infusion pumps, Blood Tubing, 10gtt and/or 60gtt sets, and dial a flow IV tubing)
- Trauma Equipment (Including but not limited to: immobilization devices, hemorrhage control devices, etc.)
- Respiratory support equipment (Including but not limited to: Hamilton T1 ventilators, BVMs, Sea-Long Hoods, Oxygen delivery devices)
- Medications (Including but not limited to: Narcotics, ACLS medications, RSI medications, and other medications noted throughout the Standing Medical Guidelines & On-Line Medical Control)
- Telephone/ Push to Talk Radios/ Aircraft Satellite Phone
- Computer/ Fax Machine/ Printer
- EMS Charts, Baldwin Safety, Expensify
- Others not specified that are deemed necessary for safe patient transport
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
- Ability to work in a confined and mobile critical care transport environment.
- Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors, airport line staff, and others.
- Ability to remain calm during stressful situations.
- Ability to respond to phone calls quickly.
- Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make decisions as a critical care team.
- Ability to repeatedly twist, squat, stoop, bend, grasp, use fine hand coordination, push, and pull.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. independently and more with assistance.
- Exposure to infectious diseases, agents, and toxic chemicals.
- Ability to mix & administer medications, with correct knowledge of proper concentrations & dosages
The background we are looking for:
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- License in all states served by assigned base
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in high an acuity setting (ED or ICU critical care)
- Current BLS, ACLS. Must obtain PALS, PHTLS, and NRP certification within 3 months of hire and must maintain throughout employment
- Advanced trauma course (one of the following) within 6 months of hire: ATLS Audit, TPATC, ATCN with advanced pathophysiology and skills lab, TNCC with advanced pathophysiology and skills lab
- CFRN or CTRN is required within 2 years of employment
- Completion of NIMS 100 and 200, within one year of hire is required.
- Live in or be willing to relocate to the region (within 2 hours or less of assigned base)
