Summary:
Prepares and finishes aircraft furniture using blueprints and engineering drawings.
Performs high-quality repairs on finished surfaces in-shop and onboard aircraft.
Cleans and polishes blemishes for aircraft delivery readiness.
Applies finishes using spray equipment and manual/mechanical methods.
Uses various sandpapers, polishes, adhesives, masking mediums, solvents, and tools.
Follows all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies; uses PPE as required.
Uses material tracking systems for part demands, squawk tracking, and work sign-offs.
Works with senior technicians to improve processes, enhancing safety, reducing costs, and optimizing efficiency through Lean Six Sigma.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
2 years of wood finishing experience (aerospace industry preferred).
Basic knowledge of cabinet finishing processes and products.
Knowledge of inspection and process specifications.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Able to climb ladders/stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 lbs, and work any shift.
Basic computer skills required.
