In your role, you will
  • Act as the Customer’s main point of contact with respect to the interior design development of their aircraft cabin interior and customer completion package.
  • Meet with prospects and customers to define the aircraft interior and exterior. You will be involved from initial identification, through definition of a floorplan and layout package, design direction, material coordination and equipment options of a completed aircraft. You will respond to interior/industrial design and completion related questions for customers and prospects.
  • Be responsible for the creation and coordination of the customer presentation package from concept to execution.  This package includes interior / industrial design concepts, color boards, veneer and carpet samples, material specifications, accessory list, loose equipment list related to each project in work.  
  • Be responsible for the project management of your assigned aircraft until customer delivery.  You will be involved in the production development of customer specific design details, the procurement confirmation of dye lots of materials and soft goods, and any delivery related issues or activities.
  • Participate in technical briefings, internal training sessions, seminars and courses to remain ahead of our well-informed customers.  
  • Be responsible for the quality and accuracy of the customer presentation package.  
  • Protect the best interests of both the Company and the Customer in order to ensure a quality finished product and a win-win end to the Completion Program.
  • Report your activity to the Leader of the Interior Design Department and work in conjunction with Sales, Advanced Visualization, Engineering, Methods, Logistics, and Delivery Managers/ Coordinators throughout the life cycle of the project.
     
As our ideal candidate
  • You have a minimum of 5-7 years design experience (aviation design experience is an asset) and hold a University (BID or BFA) and/or Collegial (DEC) Diploma in Interior or Industrial Design or equivalent.
  • You are available to travel internationally to meet with prospects and customers on interior completion-related issues. Occasional work on evenings and weekends may be required. 
  • You are well-versed in the fundamentals of design, ergonomics, color theory, presentation materials and finish & fabric selection in order to develop the customer presentation package.
  • You are PC literate with an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Photoshop. Adobe Illustrator an asset.
  • You are fluent in English (written and spoken), with excellent communication skills. French and / or  additional languages would be an asset.
