Job Title: Interior TechnicianJob Description
Working on-site at Boeing, Aircraft Interior Technicians will perform re-work, repairs, and installations/modifications to 787 aircraft. The role involves working on various parts of the aircraft, including wings, cockpit, interiors, and primary structures. Candidates will remove and reinstall fasteners, repair composite panels, replace and repair flight controls, and fabricate and install doublers and triplers.
Responsibilities
- Read, understand, and follow engineering drawings, diagrams, specifications, and work instructions.
- Communicate with multiple customers to report status updates both orally and in writing in a timely and professional manner.
- Support a wide range of customer interior components such as galleys, lavatories, economy and business class seating, interior liners, partition walls, stowbins, monuments, and other interior furnishings.
- Carry out mechanical rework of non-conformities including installation and adjustment, part replacement, calibration, and modification.
- Perform cosmetic rework of interior cabin components by cleaning, sanding, painting, filing, removing, and replacing decorative laminate, and cosmetic sealing.
- Perform electrical rework such as bond and ground, resistance measurements, harness installation, and simple electrical troubleshooting.
- Use advanced techniques such as drilling, thread cutting, screw extraction, hollow rivet replacement, potted insert installation, and measuring tools.
- Verify and order parts and standards needed to complete rework as required.
- Ensure maintenance of a FOD-free work environment including ongoing control of materials, tools, and general housekeeping.
- Perform daily documentation of all work performed in an internal database.
Essential Skills- Minimum of 3 years of experience working on aircraft interiors, preferably with Boeing 787 aircraft.
- Experience with decorative finishes, including file, sand, paint, decorative laminate, and cosmetic rework.
- Ability to read blueprints and engineering documents.
- Ability to work a variable shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and internal software applications.
- Ability to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, and work stands unassisted.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently in small spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- 4+ years of interiors experience in MRO/Heavy Maintenance/Depot level environments.
- Familiarity with Boeing aircraft.
- Experience with B787 program processes and systems including the use of Velocity/MES/SAP/Catia and REDARS.
- Knowledge of BAC and “D” documents.
- Ability to use and understand CMMs/AMMs.
- High proficiency in complex hydraulic systems, passenger entry doors, and cargo door systems.
- Composite repairs such as potting, plugging, and surface repairs.
- Application of various adhesives, sealants, primers, and paint.

Work Environment
Work on a medium-sized team on-site at Boeing. No tools are needed. The shift schedule includes Thursday to Monday, with 1st shift from 6 am to 3 pm and 2nd shift from 3 pm to 11:30 pm. Weekend shifts are Friday/Monday from 6 am to 3 pm and Saturday/Sunday from 7 am to 7 pm. Candidates must be eligible for a Boeing Badge and able to work in an environment subject to changing climate conditions.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
