Located in Ontario, CA, Summit Machine specializes in the rough and finish machining of super alloys for the aerospace, commercial, defense, power, and petroleum industries. Complex components include nickel base, titanium, stainless steel, aluminum and carbon steels with parts ranging in size from 2” OD – 100” OD.
Position Summary:
This position will support Operations and Shipping/Receiving departments through a variety of tasks designed to keep the machine shop at peak performance. All shipping and receiving material handlers will be forklift certified and may be expected to demonstrate basic computer skills. Typically, 0-1 years of experience.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Shipping/Receiving
- Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
- Load/unload trucks
- Verify packing slips and order contents
- Perform visual inspections
- Ensure part protection when packaging for outside processing or finished goods
- Clean, box, tape, wrap, stencil, band, weigh, and organize pallets and/or supplies received
- Maintain housekeeping expectations for work area, company vehicles and shipping yard
Operations / Material Handling:
- Stock, pick, and kit material
- Move material to/from machines
- Release material (hot jobs) to shop floor from scheduling system
- Transport chips (revert)
- Maintain traceability of chip bins
- Change, drain, or clean chip bins
- Clean coolant draining area (aka “the pit”)
- Inspect and organize pallets for reuse
- Inspect forklift at start of every shift
- Support inventory audits
- Communicate regularly with others
- Wear and carry radio for duration of shift
- Maintain housekeeping of property yard by keeping ground clean and free of debris, trash, shop rags, oils, or fluids.

Experience & Education:

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $16.00 to $21.75 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
