Job Title: Composite Repair TechnicianJob Description- The Composite Mechanic will remove and reinstall structure as required to access repair areas, repair carbon fiber and fiberglass on fairings, flaps, slats, flight controls, etc.
- Responsibilities include taper-sanding various materials for damage removal in challenging areas, reading repair manuals and drawings to determine required materials, and applying heat blankets with proper thermocouple placement and bagging schedule.
- Additionally, the Composite Repair Technician will operate a Heatcon hot-bond console.

- Taper-sand various materials for damage removal in challenging areas.
- Read repair manuals and drawings to determine repair materials and orientation of repair plies.
- Apply heat blankets with proper thermocouple placement and bagging schedule.
- Operate a Heatcon hot-bond console.
Essential Skills- 2+ years of recent aircraft composite repair experience.
- Experience with composite, fiberglass, and carbon fiber repairs on aircraft.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and repair manuals.
- Proficiency in taper-sanding, core plugs, and thermocouple placement.
- Skilled in diagnosing and performing composite structure repairs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- 2+ years of recent aircraft composite repair in an MRO environment.
- Airframe license preferred.
- Ability to determine types of material required for repairs and orientation of repair plies.
- Basic hand tools required (e.g., wrenches, socket set, hi-lok plier).

Work Environment- The work environment is a large MRO hangar setting. Work schedules are typically Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Friday with Saturday work possible. Shifts are 10 hours long, either from 0530 – 1600 or 1530 – 0200, with extra shifts and overtime available (50-hour week is typical). The first week consists of ATS and customer-specific training on the day shift, between 24 and 40 hours. Orientations are held every Monday.
