As an Expeditor, you will manage the day-to-day activities of the stockroom area and move and facilitate the flow of materials to and from the various departments at our site. You will be responsible for the overall operations and processes and for coordinating efforts between departments. You will also laisse between supply chain and production to ensure availability of consumables for production.
What you’ll do:
- Count, sort & process all incoming material
- Receive & allocate all incoming customer supplied material
- Manage document review process including review of supplier paperwork for accuracy and traceability
- Pick ticket processing
- Allocation of material to Work Orders based on priorities
- Maintaining accurate physical inventory as well as processing inventory transactions in the ERP system
- Manage inventory for hazardous materials & ensure all HAZMAT requirements are met
- Maintaining Shelf-Life Program using FIFO method
- Manage return to stock parts from production
- Independently complete cycle counts on a monthly basis
- Run reports regularly to prioritize work
- Progressing parts through the facility, negotiating priorities and planning with shared resources or services on a frequent basis
- Utilize FIFO and other visual and 5S organizational tools to optimize flow of work at each department or operation
- Report on any roadblocks or items that potentially result in bottlenecks or parts not moving
- Work with Logistics Supervisor to ensure parts go out on time to customers and vendors
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Prior knowledge of stockroom / inventory management (FAA repair station experience preferred)
- Working with deadlines
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and scheduling
- Ability to communicate with our vendors, customers, supervisors & leads to be effective
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
- Ability to date calculations and percentages
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form
- Have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Outlook
- Ability to operate a forklift (license not required)
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to carry up to 25 lbs unassisted
