Hazardous Materials/ DangerousGoods Compliance Leader
Serve as subject matter expert on emerging and existing Dangerous Goods (DG) transportation regulations within Americas Region.

Coordinate and train with HON DG team on global regulations.
Coordinate and contribute to the development of training aligned to the HON DG Global Design Model through use of internal training modules, corporate trainings, or external consultants for sites and respective personnel to meet global regulatory requirements.

Prepare and distribute specialized trainings as needed for specific changes in regulations, mode/carrier/country restrictions, or site-specific requirements.
Assess function-specific and site-specific training needs for respective transportation personnel and identified dangerous goods employees in region.
Provide guidance and regulatory interpretation to all regional sites shipping DG on behalf of Honeywell materials per current DG regulations and HON standards.
Perform DG audits and risk assessments with Honeywell and outsourced/Third Party Logistics (3PL) DG sites per corporate assessment criteria, via direct participation or through coordination with third party audit firm.Drive adherence to corrective action plans to mitigate risk.
Ensure complete DG information is provided to all 3PL teams per legal requirements, including but not limited to classification, emergency response, and product-specific information.
Report transportation regulatory incidents to respective functions, management, and corporate leadership per required process.
Ensure regional site compliance with Corporate HSE level 2 standards for dangerous goods and transportation compliance.Develop and distribute training on SBG- or GBE-specific standards as required.
Participate in new product introduction/launch processes to validate classification and prepare sites in terms of shipping requirements and potential regulatory constraints for new products.
Support Logistics teams working with carriers/freight forwarders, identify mode/lane constraints, train on carrier-specific requirements, and resolve any DG shipment holds/rejections.
Gather and analyze transportation safety performance metrics for shipping sites by region in coordination with Logistics/HSE teams to meet corporate DG and compliance goals.
Support HON fleet compliance via site and driver employee reviews, using appropriate country regulations and HON fleet standards.
Participate in the Honeywell Corporate Dangerous Goods Committee, including cross-business training, best practice sharing, and development of standard written procedures for SBG and Corporate.
Maintain current and appropriate DG training certifications in IATA, IMDG, TDG, NOMS, JIT, 49CFR, ADR.

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

 

YOU MUST HAVE:
Current or prior certifications in Dangerous Goods regulations, such as UN, IATA/ICAO, IMDG, ADR, 49CFR
Bachelors Degree or 5+ years of experience in Health Safety and Environmental, Supply Chain or related field, or equivalent experience at Honeywell
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Basic SAP system knowledge (minimum Material Master, Logistics modules)
Be fluent in English
