Job Title: CNC Mill Operator - 3rd ShiftJob Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Operator to join our team on the 3rd shift. This full-time, nonexempt position involves manufacturing quality products in CNC machining centers, changing materials and tools as required, and inspecting products to ensure high standards. The role requires proficiency in using measuring tools and the ability to operate all machines without assistance.
Responsibilities
- Read and accurately interpret internal and customer-provided engineering drawings and setup documents.
- Efficiently and accurately use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Make adjustments to setups and processes to enhance product quality and efficiency.
- Determine cutting tool needs and replace them as necessary without causing product loss or damage.
- Utilize grinding and cutting tools such as air grinders, drill press, manual mill, grinders, saws, and burr tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment using 5-S techniques or good housekeeping skills.
- Determine when to stop production due to quality or safety issues.
- Document shop loss procedures according to company standards.
- Accurately clock in/out of time and shop orders using the company MRP system.
- Use adequate lifting equipment or methods to prevent personal injury.
- Maintain awareness of all safety-related MSDS information.
- Follow company procedures for extinguishing flammable materials.
- Properly handle machinery when dealing with excessive weight.
- Perform any other duties as requested by the supervisor or manager.
- Work well with others and participate in all safety trainings/meetings.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
Essential Skills- Knowledge of CNC machining in commercial or aerospace manufacturing facilities.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of G and M codes and their functions.
- 3 to 5 years of CNC experience.
- Experience with 3, 4, and 5 axis machining.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, and Mazatrol controls.
- Experience with aluminum high-speed machining.
- Ability to perform own setups and runs on machines.
- Experience with Mazak machinery.
- Proficiency in using micrometers and calipers.

You will work in a climate-controlled shop floor, exposed to water-soluble coolants and loud environments. Steel toe boots are required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
