Job Description

We are seeking three experienced Machine Operators to join our team. You will be responsible for performing all aspects of machining, including the setup and operation of various equipment such as 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mills, lathes, routers, lasers, and manual milling machines. Experience programming using Catia or equivalent software is required.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and operate equipment such as 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mills, lathes, routers, lasers, and manual milling machines.
  • Read and write g-code using CAM software and at the machine controller.
  • Produce quality products in a timely manner using specifications and documents.
  • Maintain a high level of quality while working with aerospace materials such as aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and others.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and written work plans.
  • Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters.
  • Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements by complying with documentation and processes.
  • Utilize various measuring techniques to validate conformance to requirements.
  • Understand tooling, tool setting and offsetting, setting work offsets, and basic inspection techniques.
  • Start and observe machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls or media as necessary.
  • Verify conformance of finished first article workpieces to specifications and conduct subsequent inspections in accordance with the machine shops statistical process control (SPC) inspection processes.
  • Use hand deburr tools.
  • Consult with lead personnel, machine shop supervisors, or others to resolve machining issues.
  • Adhere to all safety and security requirements.
  • Effectively interface with engineers and quality personnel.
  • Communicate effectively in written and verbal forms.
Essential Skills
  • 5 years of machine operation experience.
  • Experience with 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mills, lathes, routers, lasers, and manual milling machines.
  • Proficiency in programming using Catia or equivalent software.
  • Ability to read and write g-code using CAM software and at the machine controller.
  • Experience working with aerospace materials such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and written work plans.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with various measuring techniques to validate conformance to requirements.
  • Experience with tooling, tool setting and offsetting, setting work offsets, and basic inspection.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Vocational Degree may be used in lieu of experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.25 - $23.25/hr.
