Description:You will be the Machinist General Sr for our manufacturing team. Our team is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to create parts from various materials, including metal and composites, with precision and accuracy.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Machinist General Sr, you will be responsible for performing a variety of machining operations using automated equipment, working from diagrams and drawings, and using hand and power tools to produce high-quality parts. Your responsibilities will include:
• Setting up and operating CNC machines, such as lathes and milling machines
• Using precise measuring instruments and equipment to take accurate measurements
• Performing mathematical calculations and following detailed planning
• Working with hand and power tools to achieve exact tolerances and dimensions

Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
After-hours Off-site learning may be required.
Lifting of up to 30-50 pounds.
Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Great verbal and written communication skills.
Outstanding mathematical skills and analytical abilities.
Must have the ability to use hand tools (i.e., torque wrench, drills and inspection tools, screwdrivers, ratchet wrench and various other hand tools).
This position will be located at a facility that requires special access and requires the selected candidate to be a US citizen.
Desired Skills:
Ability to use precision tools (e.g., calipers) to take accurate measurements.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
Motivated self-starter with a desire to further his/her skills in CNC machining taking additional training courses geared toward operating CNC mills/lathes.
Experience with operating automated equipment, understanding of mechanical assembly and process flow.
Strong teaming ability and effective communication skills.
Critical thinking and problem solving.
Familiar with Microsoft Office products (Outlook) is a plus.
Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)
Knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, SPC and basic knowledge of CNC programming.
Vocational school or apprenticeship preferred.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
