Role Summary:
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician to support the production of cutting-edge space hardware at our Beltsville, MD facility. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in assembling and fabricating aerospace components, including honeycomb panels and other critical structures. Your work will directly contribute to advancements in rocket propulsion systems, satellite components, and space-deployable technologies that push the boundaries of whats possible in space exploration.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical assembly and fabrication operations on aerospace components, including honeycomb panels and aluminum skins.
Work closely with engineers to assist in set-up, calibration, and rework tasks to meet product specifications.
Use hand tools, power machinery, and other equipment to process metals, composites, and wood for aerospace applications.
Follow detailed written manufacturing instructions and technical procedures to ensure accuracy and quality.
Assist with testing and quality control procedures to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
Participate in the development of methods and procedures to modify and improve the manufacturing process.
Maintain a high level of craftsmanship, taking pride in producing high-quality work while adhering to safety standards.
Work with lead technicians and supervisors to meet build schedules and ensure delivery within budget constraints.
Handle hazardous materials, including adhesives, in compliance with OSHA and industry standards.
Lift up to 50 lbs and be flexible with work schedules to meet production deadlines.
Required Qualifications (Must-Have):
High School diploma or equivalent (education verification required).
Minimum 2 years of experience in honeycomb panel fabrication or aerospace mechanical assembly.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality work.
Proficiency with hand tools, power machinery, and basic math/geometry skills.
Ability to follow manufacturing instructions and technical procedures.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in compliance with safety standards.
Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet deadlines.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have):
Experience with preparing and mixing epoxy and silicone adhesives for aerospace applications.
Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing environments, specifically in structural assembly (non-electrical).
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience handling hazardous materials in accordance with OSHA guidelines.

Competitive pay rate of $25.27 to $28.16 per hour.
Full-time, 12-month consultant position with a 9X80 schedule (Monday to Friday).

Pay Details: $25.27 to $28.16 per hour
