About This Role:
The Materiel & Logistics Specialist is responsible for scaling, inventory management and supply chain management for Spares and Repair parts for Tactical Armored Patrol Vehicle (TAPV) Support contract. As a key member of the Equipment Management Team (EMT) develop demand forecasts and supply plan, resolve issues on parts demands, expected delivery times, quality of spares issues, Packaging, Handling, Storage and Transportability (PHST) and any other materiel support issues.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ownership of Material Support Performance Metric, analysis of performance data, identify Top Metric Drivers and actions to improve performance.
- Using statistical methods and inputs from different specialists, generate a detailed long term material forecast.
- Work closely with Planning and Procurement teams to execute supply plans to meet customer demands and long-term material forecasts.
- Initiate and coordinate cross-border material shipping activities with warehouse and Import/Export team.
- Monitor inventory levels at supplier warehouse, customer depots and internal stores. Ensure the quality of inventory data (e.g. validity, accuracy, inventory locations, erroneous transactions), reconcile material transactions and resolve database issues.
- Main point of contact for the resolution of material issues; interface with the customers personnel and project team to identify, align and support day-to-day urgent material needs on the program.
- Maintain back-order report; provide weekly updates on expected delivery dates for the back order.
- Monitor warehouse vendors timely response to customer demands to satisfy the performance metric.
- Analyze trends and generate reports for spares consumption, failure rates and annual material costs.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve materiel management processes.
- Maintain and update obsolescence list, define strategy and drive actions to address obsolescence issues.
- Actively identify potential Canadian suppliers for spare and repair parts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
