MATERIAL PLANNER

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provide feedback to analysts with recommended improvements to tracking and communication tools required to align engineering, production, and supply chain

  • Support continuous improvement projects for operations planning

  • Continuously works with engineering, planning, procurement, and other stakeholders to improve efficiencies, processes, and data integrity pertaining to the flow of materials and inventory/warehouse management

  • Support metric targets and monitoring for operations planning

  • Run shortage reports and highlight key shortages

  • Compile regular inventory reports, review, and analyze for solutions to unsatisfactory trends

  • Resolve blockers that prevent production or supply chain from delivering on time

  • Follow up on purchase and work order promise dates

  • MRP system updates, such as creating and cancelling work orders and adding purchase order line notes

  • Other duties as assigned


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or similar technical discipline

  • 2+ years of professional experience in material planning, operations management, supply chain management, or master scheduling

  • Experience with MRP or ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems, and with managing bill of materials and work orders


PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:


  • APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) certification, Six Sigma certification, or similar certifications

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, cross functional environment, both independently and in a team

  • Demonstrated efficiency in time management, interpersonal communication, and organization

  • Strong skills in data analysis using Excel, SQL (Structured Query Language), and Tableau

  • 5+ year planning and/or MRP experience

  • Great communication skills

  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment

  • Strong computer and analytical skills including proficiency in spreadsheets

  • Ability to multi task and prioritize work and simultaneous projects

  • Detail oriented, organized, and demonstrate a high sense of urgency

  • Complex manufacturing experience in an aerospace, automotive, or related industry

  • Strong work ethic and a “can-do” problem-solving attitude


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Physical effort including standing, lifting, and carrying light to moderately heavy materials or equipment

  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs unassisted

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Work schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required
