The Heavy Materials Maintenance Representative is responsible for performance and administrative tasks required to support the materials requirements while an aircraft is in check. Heavy engagement in reduction of Material costs, planning, production, transportation, storage, distribution, and customer service.
Essential roles and responsibilities of a Heavy Materials Maintenance Representative:
- Shipping / Receiving of required aircraft materials. Monitor and track Heavy Check materials requirements from initial starting point to destination, communicating status updates and changes that impact production to multiple departments internally as well as MRO.
- Performing daily transactions in TRAX, including receiving, providing notification to Engineering to load and make effective parts, complete all inventory transactions, picklist creations and manual issues.
- Ensure all aircraft material requirements are communicated, understood, and executed throughout the Supply Chain to include AOG Desk, Planning, Purchasing, Repair & Warranty, as well as Material Management.
- Alert Maintenance and Supply Chain management to discrepancies and materials issues that may impact the maintenance operation and work to develop solutions.
- Participate in Heavy Check pre-induction meetings to forecast demand and implement supply strategies to ensure availability of Materials.
- Collaborate with Inventory Analyst to set appropriate Min/Max levels to maximize cost saving, minimizing check spans and delays.
- Monitor all loans and exchanges to ensure they are processed and returned expeditiously, while ensuring cores and return paperwork meet contract return requirements.
- Complete monthly shelf-life audits.
- Monitor inventory utilizing cycle count process, ensure counts are complete to schedule and accurate. Aiding in researching all missing components identified during this process to complete reconciliation.
- Establish warehouse practices and protocols that meet corporate initiates to reduce Material costs and maintain acceptable inventory accuracy aligned to Corporate Metrics.
- Report and Monitor Material costs throughout check communicating forecasted spend to Management.
- Disposition and prep obsolete, surplus or non-use items to ship off-site for consignment sale.
- Oversee MRO facilities for inventory accuracy and compliance of part issues to facilitate expediting work order closures within 30 days after aircraft release.
- Provide notification to records that all Materials costs are appropriately accounted for and closure of work order is authorized.
- Collect and process any reimbursable cost for immediate billing after check release.
- Maintain record of Hazardous Materials with relation to shipping, maintaining SDS files, accumulation of waste, and disposal in accordance with all local, state and Sun Country policy.
- Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal safety and health regulatory requirements, programmatic standards, and with any internal policies and procedures identified by Sun Country Airlines
- Perform other functions as assigned by the Director Materials.

The qualifications we are looking for in a Heavy Materials Maintenance Representative include:
- Experience in Inventory, Warehouse and Materials Management
- Proven leadership skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to perform independently and deliver results to the requisite quality and timeline metrics.
- Must be able to obtain SIDA clearance, as well as Security Clearance at MRO Facilities.
Preferred or additional requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years of supply chain experience
- Knowledge of TRAX operating system strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with international shipping regulations (U.S. Customs)
- Strong analytical, research, data processing, and computer skills
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite
- Capable of muti-tasking several projects and tasks
- Strong oratory and written skills will be required to participate and communicate on daily conference calls.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Aviation, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience is preferred.
