We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onwards toward certifying the Joby aircraft with the Federal Aviation Administration, scaling our manufacturing, and preparing to launch commercial service in 2025.

The Materials and Process Team seeks an intern to support characterizing structural materials for our eVTOL aircraft. This person will work closely with other engineers on the team to provide hands-on support with various R&D projects. We expect the intern to take some level of ownership but will provide support and guidance to allow them to grow and be successful in a fast-paced, engineering- focused environment. We are looking for an intern for our M&P lab located in Marina, CA.

  • Design, develop, and conduct developmental trials to optimize the manufacturing process
  • Manage small projects from conception to completion

  • Experience with composite material characterization
  • Able to work onsite daily in Marina, CA
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of mechanics of composite materials, basic analysis with relevant coursework
  • Enjoy hands-on engineering, experimenting, and evaluating new concepts
Desired
  • Preferred experience working in a laboratory setting or research setting
  • strong technical writing skills preferred
  • preferred experience working with composites and adhesives
