Job Title: Shipping Clerk 1st shift
Department: Powerplant Division
Reports To: Shipping Lead/Materials Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Accomplish incoming and outgoing freight transactions, accurately completing Kalitta Air shipping documents in accordance with established procedures.
- Verifying quantities, part numbers, descriptions, serial numbers, and conditions of outbound shipments. Completing Kalitta Air shipping documents by following procedures.
- Selecting an appropriate carrier based on delivery requirements to ensure on time, economical delivery, being knowledgeable of common carrier terminologies to ensure accuracy of freight documents.
- Loading and unloading incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the engine shop shipping area.
- Preparing and packaging material for shipment in accordance with company procedures, DOT HM125 and ATA Dangerous Goods.
- Knowledge of current computer systems, making accurate data entries in accordance with established procedures.
- Knowledge of common warehouse practices and warehouse tool operations, for example: forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
- Follow Kalitta Air safety rules and procedures. Ensure that any identified safety related deficiencies are brought to the company’s attention.
- Any other duties assigned by the Material Foreman related to the stockroom and company needs.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate; some college and/or technical school desirable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff.
