Role and Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Shipping/Receiving Summer Assistant will report to the Logistics Group Lead and assist the Shipping/Receiving team.
Primary Responsibilities:
Shipping/Receiving
- Receiving non-dangerous goods for CAE in Moose Jaw
- Filing of invoices and delivery receipts
- Deliveries to and from the hangars several times a day (9, 11, 1, 2:30) as required
- Shipping of courier mail (documents outsides CMAT)
- Inspection of all vehicles for logistics, gas, cleaning.
- Operate mobile handling equipment (pallet Jack, hand carts)
- Assist in the performance of other stores function when required
- Maintain box inventory
- Maintain recycling program
- Inventory count on Hazmat PPE
- Assist in summer cleaning of the Cold Storage and Cold side of Hazmat Building
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
- Proof of registration in a post-secondary educational institution in the fall semester 2024.
Other Required Training or Skills
- Ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines
- Ability to manage several tasks at once and set priorities, willing and able to work in a constantly changing environment
- Ability to recognize opportunities and suggest ideas to Project manager and customers as needed.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suit (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) is required.
- Experience in JIRA will be considered an asset (Project management tool).
Candidate must successfully pass a security evaluation per the requirements of the Controlled Goods Directorate of Canada and to CAE being able to obtain all necessary re-transfer authorization in compliance with US ITAR regulations
