What does the role look like?

The Supply Chain Bids Specialist will coordinate with the entire supply chain team to request, obtain, analyse, and compile material costs from suppliers to support bid models for customer proposals. The role requires the effective coordination of cross-functional teams and interaction with multiple stakeholders, including programme teams, customers, and senior managers. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for analysing quotes and models to ensure compliance with US Government flowdowns and to verify that all necessary evidence is in place.

What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?

• Liaise with programme managers and teams to understand the scope of customer RFPs.
• Work with account managers to issue RFQs to suppliers regarding required parts, volumes, and performance periods.
• Maintain regular contact with account managers and directly engage with suppliers to secure quotes.
• Compile and integrate all pricing data into bid models for review by Finance and Programme teams.
• Analyse supplier quotes and bid models to support negotiations with both suppliers and customers.
• Ensure adherence to US Government requirements, including TINA Compliance.
• Gather and compile all supporting evidence necessary for compliance purposes.
• Analyse trends and produce management reports to justify bid models and address queries.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to refine processes and workstreams associated with the role.
• Report progress and findings to various Senior Leadership Team (SLT) members.

What will you bring to the role?

Essential skills:

• Relationship Management: Proven experience in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
• Analytical Skillset: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to manipulate and interpret data using Excel to support bid models and decision-making.
• Procurement Experience: Demonstrable experience in procurement processes, including supplier engagement, RFQs, and bid management.

Desirable skills:  

• Project management experience with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams.
• Knowledge of supply chain processes and systems.
• Experience in reporting to senior management.
• Familiarity with Lean techniques and methodologies.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
