Job Description:

Monitor and maintain documents of all aircraft scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Plans and coordinates all aircraft inspections (special, conditional, phase, etc.). Dispatch and monitoring of all assigned tasks and associated jobs to technicians. Keeps Leadership team briefed on Aircraft status and
any safety issues. Works closely with the Operations Department to ensure Aircraft are available to meet the Flight Schedule. Able to monitor and report all work performed. Work within FAA regulations. Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly reports in support of aircraft long range maintenance requirements.

Work Tasks: 

  • Maintains Aircraft Logbooks showing completed as well as outstanding maintenance actions.
  • Ensures all required maintenance is performed before flights, assisting in the documentation of aircraft flight time and maintenance discrepancies.
  • Makes certain the aircraft historical records, as well as various other aircraft files in support of aircraft maintenance are maintained.
  • Verification of all Maintenance Action Documentation prior to safe for flight release of the aircraft.
  • Responsible for aircraft mission configuration, collaborating with various customers with uploads, installs, and systems checks as required.
  • Ensure the work area is maintained in a neat and orderly manner and that all safety rules and regulations are observed.
  • May work with other groups or personnel to resolve problems. Will instruct and assist in training lower-level employees in proper work methods and performance of their job duties. Performs related duties as assigned including all duties of lower rated technical personnel.
  • Assist other shops/skills as required.
  • Knowledge of FAA Regulations.
  • Knowledgeable of and understand basic supply procedures.
  • Possessing working knowledge of applicable aircraft.
  • Travel to sites within the program as needed. May be required to assist in maintenance actions and perform functions for all site areas of responsibility.
  • Perform and assist maintenance as a mechanic to assist in troubleshooting and maintenance for the less experienced mechanics.
  • Document and submit written reports as required with clarity and technical accuracy.
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Ensures that maintenance personnel are effectively following proper work practices, company policies, procedures, and applicable sections of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations. (Technical Data, FOD, Tool management, SMS, etc.)
  • Ensure that the facilities occupied by maintenance personnel are kept safe, clean, and orderly. Identify and implement the best practices and standards in repair facilities using the 5-S model.
  • Promotes compliance with the policies and procedures governing the safety management system. Performs investigations and prepares rectifications in response to safety reports. Collaborates inter-departmentally as necessary to ensure rectifications are effective.
  • Provides input on any amendments to the GOM manuals with the Accountable Manager to ensure that proposed amendments comply with applicable regulations and procedures.
  • Meets with customers to gather feedback on performance and areas for improvement.
  • Additional job-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in associated discipline is highly preferred, High School graduate.
  • Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) Certificate required.
  • Inspector Airworthiness (IA) preferred.
  • Required to obtain/maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • A Valid Driver’s license is required.
  • Conduct brief daily standup meetings with all maintenance personnel for an overview of all work in progress.

Experience:

  • Possess an extensive background in the field of aircraft maintenance systems, engines, engine rigging, electrical systems, avionics components, structures, and avionics systems and their interactions with each other, Hydraulic and Flight Control systems.
  • Possesses experience training personnel supporting scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
