We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Line Service Manager to provide exceptional ground support services to aircraft. The Line Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the line service department at an aviation facility. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and professional handling of aircraft, fuel services, ground support equipment, and customer service. The manager supervises the line service team, enforces safety regulations, and maintains high standards of service for private, corporate, and commercial aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Management:
- Oversee aircraft fueling, towing, de-icing, and other ground handling services.
- Ensure timely and efficient aircraft movements while maintaining safety procedures.
- Monitor fuel inventory and coordinate with suppliers for fuel deliveries.
- Maintain proper function and availability of ground support equipment (GSE).
- Team Leadership & Training:
- Recruit, train, and manage line service personnel to ensure excellent performance.
- Conduct safety briefings and training sessions for employees.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and customer service.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with FAA, OSHA, and company regulations.
- Perform regular inspections of fueling operations, ramp procedures, and equipment.
- Investigate and document incidents or accidents, implementing corrective actions.
- Customer Service:
- Ensure a high level of service for pilots, passengers, and aviation clients.
- Work closely with customer service representatives to meet client needs.
- Address customer concerns and ensure prompt resolution.
- Administrative & Reporting Duties:
- Maintain records related to fuel transactions, equipment maintenance, and personnel training.
- Monitor departmental budgets and control costs.
- Provide reports to upper management online service operations and performance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in line service or aviation ground operations.
- Prior leadership or management experience in an aviation or FBO setting.
- Strong knowledge of fueling procedures, ground handling, and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate ground support equipment.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Frequent outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Standing, walking, and working on an active airfield for extended periods.
