ABOUT US
Since 1978 Air Inuit has been providing scheduled, charter, cargo, and emergency air transportation services in Nunavik and beyond, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Collectively owned by the Inuit of Nunavik, through the Makivik Corporation, the airline operates a fleet of over 35 aircraft ranging from a Twin Otter 300 Series to a Boeing 737 200C, 300 and 800 and employs over 1000 employees in one of the most challenging flight environments. Air Inuits Management and its team of dedicated employees are committed to the companys essential mission of providing safe, timely and high-quality air service to the people living and doing business in the enchanting region of Northern Quebec.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage ramp personnel;
- Restrict ramp access to authorized personnel only;
- Ensure the safety of ramp operations at all times;
- Proceed with the daily inspection of ramp vehicles and equipment;
- All other duties deemed necessary by the company in order to ensure the effectiveness of the operation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Bilingual (English/Inuktituk) or (French/Inuktituk) or (French/English);
- Good communication skills;
- Experienced in driving forklifts;
- Be able to organize and divide the workload between ramp personnel;
- Hold a valid driving license;
- One year of experience in the cargo field and ramp work;
- Knowledge or capacity to master the cargo programs, weight & balance program, as well as deicing of the planes;
- Available to work evenings, nights and weekends;
- If the position is not filled locally, the candidate will be considered as having no specific base.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Rotational position – 2 weeks ON and 2 weeks OFF
If the position is not filled locally, airfare from Montreal and room and board will be included.
COMPENSATION
- Compensation and benefits are determined in accordance with corporate policy
- Annual salary starts at $41,625.
- Northern Allowance $10,784 (if applicable)
