ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Ground Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the set-up of all Ground Operations requirements per airline activities. This position is administratively and operationally accountable to the Manager of Ground Operations. Duties shall include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all Ground Services-related requests
  • Analyze future airline operations, and research airport facilities and available services to ensure all operational needs are fulfilled
  • Evaluate, train and certify Ground Operations Specialists
  • Schedule and distribute the workload for Ground Operations Specialists
  • Coordinate aircraft movement and available/scheduled Ground Operations services with System Control and Mission Planning
  • Assisting Strategic Operations Center personnel during irregular operations
  • Resolve all baggage claims as they are received or assigned
  • Maintain currency on all certifications, which, at a minimum, shall include:
  • Ground Operations Specialist
  • Quality Assurance Auditor
  • Review all Lead Flight Attendant (LFA) and similar reports from the field and resolve all Ground Operations-related discrepancies noted therein
  • Conduct internal audits in accordance with the Ground Operations Quality Assurance Program
  • Accept, reject, or cause to be revised all assigned invoices for Ground Operations services
  • Arrange as assigned, all necessary services for commercial and special charters
  • Update and confirm all relevant “Agents” information found within the “Airport Database Maintenance” section of AIMS
  • Assist with the maintenance and auditing of departmental records
  • Escalate all safety, security, quality, personnel, or other concerns to the Manager and/or Director of Ground Operations
  • Organize and distribute all commercial flight briefings to all relevant parties
  • Submit APIS transmittal or contract services out to 3rd party per TSA requirements
  • Audit passenger manifest names against No Fly/Selectee List or contract services out to 3rd party TSA requirements
  • Review departmental costs, and continuously work to find more efficient methods of doing business
  • Conduct on-site evaluations of current and future stations
  • Maintain an insurable driving record under Omni insurance driving guidelines
  • Be available to perform some travel as required
  • Accomplish other duties as may be assigned by Manager of Ground Operations or Director of Ground Operations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must hold a valid drivers license with no major moving violations within the past 3 years
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Proficient computer skills are required
  • Requires ability to handle numerous activities at once
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision and possess impeccable attention to detail, excellent customer service, and organizational skills
  • Must be able to pass a 10-year Background/Criminal check and pre-employment drug screen

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED (required)
  • 3 years of aviation experience with ramp experience desired
  • 1 year of supervision or management experience desired
