Job Description:

As the Chief Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products maintained adhere to the Company's quality and reliability standards. You will oversee the Records Department, manage compliance with aviation regulations, and lead supplier audit and qualification efforts.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Records Management:

  • Oversee the 145 Inspection Department, ensuring accurate maintenance, work order procedures and processes, and updating of aircraft records related to the maintenance activities of the 145 MRO.
  • Review work orders for accuracy and completion. Issue form 8130-3 when applicable. Ensure compliance with Airworthiness Directives (AD), Service Bulletins (SB), and FAA regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain the work order files and records for the FAA Repair Station.

2. Technical Writing:

  • Develop, maintain, and update Manuals, Inspection Programs, and the Repair Station and Quality Control Manual (RSQCM)
  • Collaborate with other managers for input and direction on document updates.

3. Maintenance Training:

  • Manage the required maintenance training of technicians for the 145 MRO
  • Maintain training records to satisfy FAA requirements.
  • Oversee 145 training rosters, , and new hire indoctrination.

4. Chief Inspector Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Chief Inspector for the 145 department.
  • Manage and supervise the Repair Station Inspection Department personnel and their work product.
  • Assists, supervises and directs personnel assigned to the inspection department (designated inspectors). Ensures that all inspections are properly performed, documented in the work order and records are updated on all completed work before it is released to the customer and that the proper inspection records, reports and forms used by the repair station are properly executed and included in the work order package.
  • Fulfill all responsibilities associated with the Chief Inspector position, demonstrating knowledge of the aircraft we operate and the required maintenance.
  • Execute FAA Form 337 and the maintenance release pertinent to all items released to service by the repair station.
  • Maintains the 145 OPS SPEC's, "Roster of Management, Supervisory, and Inspection Personnel" in a current state.
  • Maintains and audits the Shelf Life program for the 145.
  • Maintains and makes available current data for the work being performed by the Repair Station:  Maintenance Manuals, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, FAA regulations, etc.  Ensures the Repair Station Capabilities and OPS Spec's are being properly followed.
  • Establishes and administers a corrective action system to identify quality problems and bring about their prompt, satisfactory resolution.
  • Administers and prepares information for submission to the FAA, including updates on the repair stations capabilities.
  • Analyzes and interprets quality data in order to develop methods, procedures, and systems to improve the Quality Assurance functions.
  • Performs special assignments and projects as directed by the Director of Quality.
Job Requirements:
  • Current Airframe and Powerplant certificate
  • Extensive Knowledge of Rotorcraft required. EC225 Super Puma preferred.
  • Knowledge of Safran Makila engines
  • Bachelor's degree in aviation, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Extensive experience in aviation records management, quality assurance, and compliance.
  • Extensive knowledge of CFR Part 145
  • Strong technical writing skills with the ability to maintain and update various manuals and programs.
  • Previous experience managing maintenance training programs.
  • FAA IA certification required
  • A strong background and knowledge in rotary-wing inspection.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with WinAir Preferred.
Salary Range: 125,000-135,000
