Job Description SummaryAs the MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) Data Operation & Analytics Product Owner you will be responsible for operating in lock-step with Services, Aviation MRO DT teams, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) Business/Shops and product teams to create a clear strategic direction for development needs and convey that vision to the build and/or operations team. You will collaborate with the team and provide a clear and descriptive set of requirements and determine deliverables through balancing the need for new features, defects, and technical debt. Your priority is seamless integration and alignment of perspectives from a broad set of stakeholders: Product Managers, Technical Anchors, Product Owners and Developers.

Your time will be split between Data & Analytics (70) & OASIS Master Data Operations (30). Your Data & Analytics responsibilities will include collaboration with the reporting and analytics team to create a set of requirements captured as stories to determine deliverables through balancing the need for new features, defects, and technical debt. As the SAP Master Data Operations Lead you will ensure compliance within SAP for all Master Data Areas while managing a team of contractors to implement and sustain controls to ensure SAP is in compliance with all polices and System of Records for Master Data.

Job Description

In this role, you will:

  • Own the releases and sprint backlogs short-term roadmap for Service & MRO.
  • Demonstrate expert level skill in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity.
  • Own and manage the data analytics backlog & Data Ops adhoc tickets; continuously order and prioritize to ensure that 1-2 sprints/iterations of backlog are always ready.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity.
  • Develop communication, training and change management deliverable required to increase adoption.
  • Engages frequently (50 of the time) with the development team; facilitates discussions, provides clarification, story acceptance and refinement, testing and validation; contributes to design activities and decisions.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of the technology stack and impact on final product.
  • Routinely collaborates with UX in design decisions. Conducts customer and stakeholder interviews and elaborates on personas.
  • Experience working in Agile environment & Implement Lean methodologies when working with the business to review, update and implement SAP standard operating procedures.
  • Work with the audit and compliance groups within Aerospace to ensure SAP Master Data is maintained and controlled according to the System of Record.
  • Onboard new sites to SAP for Master Data training
  • For new instances of SAP, transfer the MDM Team policies and procedures to the new SAP instance and coordinate and work on activities for both.
  • Budget Planning for yearly Purchase Order renewal, and review team capacity for changes needed.
  • Responsible for 2+ Products or directing (influencing) 10+ DT resources. Expected minimum experience to demonstrate competency of 5 years, with skill being recognized and leveraged as an expert inside GE.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 5 years of professional experience OR associate degree with minimum of 8 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in IT, including at least 3 years of experience in Data & Analytics or as a product owner.
  • Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience.

 

Eligibility Requirement:

Desired Characteristics:

  • 2+ years SAP ERP experience is a plus.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with Operations, Master Data Management & Governance
  • Demonstrates knowledge on technical topics, such as SAP HANA, BI, Spotfire
  • Lean practice experience including Kaizens, VSMs, Problem Solving
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, such as SOX, CMMC is a bonus.
