JOB SUMMARY
Alaska Seaplanes is dedicated to providing the highest standard of safety and customer service in Southeast Alaska. Alaska Seaplanes Line Mechanics role is to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Alaska Seaplanes fleet to meet the standards and compliance of both company and industry.
 
Essential duties and responsibilities
  • Complete and inspect work to ensure that aircraft maintenance meets industry, regulatory and company standards
  • Conduct routine and special inspections as required and mandated by the FAA and manufacturers Refers to maintenance manuals or other specifications to determine proper methods
  • Troubleshoots and repairs damaged, worn or defective aircraft mechanical components
  • Maintain ground support equipment
  • Responsible for on-time delivery and that milestones and deadlines throughout the project are met
  • Demonstrates proper inspection and repair procedures
  • Read, interpret and research pilots description of discrepancies and diagnose problems
  • Assemble and install mechanical and structural components and accessories Ensures that the aircraft is properly protected and that proper procedures are in place and followed to eliminate errors and incidents.Demonstrates correct operational procedures with required tools and equipment
  • Completes required paperwork including but not limited to discrepancy records inspections checklists, parts status tags, MEL sign offs and work orders
  • Observes current applicable FAA Regulations
  • Maintains general cleanliness of hangar, parts and tool rooms
  • Complies with company safety policies and procedures
  • Independently accomplish job responsibilities within short deadlines
  • Check out inventory as used
  • Practices safety conscious behaviors in all operational  processes and procedures 
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age 
  • Must be a United States Citizen or provide proof of right to work in the U.S.
  • Hold FAA Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic Certificate
  • Knowledge of applicable FAA and environmental regulations
  • Must possess the ability to fluently read, write, speak and understand English
  • Possess the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to work self-directed and within a team
  • Must pass pre-employment FAA DOT drug test and participate in random drug testing
  • Must be able to lift 60lbs
  • Must have basic computer skills
