Overview
New Moon Aviation is seeking an experienced and certified A&P mechanic with IA certification to join our team as the Shop Lead at our Hood River location. This role is pivotal in managing and scheduling all maintenance operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining the high standards we uphold as a company. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, mechanical expertise, and a customer-focused approach to oversee the daily operations of our maintenance facility.
Your Role
As the Shop Lead, you will take on a wide range of responsibilities that are critical to the smooth operation and success of the maintenance facility. From managing the workflow of the shop to ensuring regulatory compliance and fostering strong customer relationships, your expertise and leadership will be key to achieving excellence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the shop’s daily operations, including scheduling and coordinating maintenance activities for a diverse fleet.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for technicians, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to maintenance schedules.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on aircraft systems and components, focusing on turboprop phase inspections.
- Supervise and mentor maintenance staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, AS9100 standards, and internal company policies.
- Manage detailed documentation of all maintenance activities, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues related to airframes, engines, and other systems.
- Liaise with customers to discuss maintenance schedules, updates, and recommendations, building lasting relationships based on trust and integrity.
- Oversee the procurement of parts and tools, ensuring the shop is adequately stocked to meet operational demands.
- Perform quality control inspections to verify that all maintenance and repairs meet stringent safety and performance standards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $37.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 40 per week
