Job Description:

As an Avionics Technician for PJM, you will be working under deadlines to inspect, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain aircraft avionics systems in accordance with FAA regulations and standards. It will be your job to ensure that the aircraft is in top working order and to repair any problems before it is returned to service. 

Responsibilities:


30% Assist with performing Avionics Maintenance activities of the Part 145 Repair Station’s Avionics Department

40% Inspect, service, maintain, install, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft power, communications, navigation, autopilot, sensor systems, electrical and cabin entertainment systems for a variety of different aircraft

10% Regularly use and update CAMP, Flightdocs, Traxall for scheduled aircraft maintenance.

20% Assure the maintenance of all articles and components within the Avionics Manager's jurisdiction are accomplished within the authority of the Repair Station Operations Specifications, all Part 145 Manuals and all applicable C.F.R.'s.

Job Requirements:

Preferred Education / Experience:
•  High school diploma or equivalent required.
•  Completion of an FAA-accredited technical school program with a minimum of 1,900 actual class 
hours required.
•  Airframe Mechanic certification or a FAA Repairman Certificate.
Preferred Knowledge / Ability:
•  Thorough understanding of aircraft parts, systems, and mechanics.
•  Perform aircraft inspections in accordance with FAA regulations.
•  Thorough understanding of tools and testing methods used to ensure proper functioning of 
aircraft avionics systems and its parts, systems, and mechanics.
•  Use circuit testers, voltmeters, and other instruments to test electronic equipment. Analyze 
aircraft to identify malfunctions and performance issues.
•  Install instruments, electrical and electronic components, and systems using hand tools, power 
tools, or soldering irons.
•  Ability to read, comprehend, wiring diagrams to resolve complex avionics and aircraft electrical 
issues.
•  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software used to complete and maintain 
records.
•  Detail-oriented with mechanical inclination.
•  Superior and careful workmanship.
•  Coordinate work with other aircraft maintenance mechanics, and avionics technicians
•  Ability to perform consistently under stressful conditions.
•  Ability to perform basic inspections and repairs.
•  Ability to learn new skills and methods of repairs.
•  Sufficient oral and verbal communication skills, as needed, to discuss equipment malfunctions 
and complete reports.
