Pay Rate: $42.00-$43.75 an hour

Overview: Aerotek is currently hiring an A&P Mechanic for a contract to hire position for SCA position with one of the worlds leading Helicopter Manufacturers at their state of the art maintenance and modification facility located in Columbus, MS. Job Description

We are currently seeking an Aircraft Mechanic (with an A&P License ) who will be performing various forms of maintenance and modifications to LUH-72, EC-145, EC-135, AS350, and/or BK-117 Helicopters. Primary work will be performed on Government issued LUH-72 Lakotas. The candidate will be involved in the fabrication, repair, and installation of aircraft parts, maintenance and repair of helicopters, and support of helicopter-specific programs related to Government / Military usage.

Responsibilities

  • Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance which may include pre and post flight checks, heavy checks, modifications, etc.
  • Perform fabrication, assembly, installation, repair, replacement, adjustment, and alignment of parts and components.
  • Work from three-dimensional blueprints, sketches, diagrams, technical manuals, work orders, inspection reports, and other similar documentation.
  • Conduct functional checks of systems for proper function.
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose malfunctions or failures on various aircraft systems including aircraft equipment furnishings, fire protection, fuel system, hydraulics, landing gear, doors, fuselage, stabilizer, rotor systems, power plant, and engine controls.
  • Diagnose the cause of malfunctions, identify failures, and determine corrective action to restore systems to required operating specifications and standards.
  • Perform required corrective action by making repairs, adjustments, or replacements.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the assigned lead person regarding schedules, priorities, availability of parts, supplies, and tools, and special instructions as required.
  • Ensure work complies with FAA regulations, customer requirements, and company specifications.
  • Coordinate with various departments regarding requirements for materials, supplies, equipment, and job schedules.
  • Complete forms and records pertaining to the completion of assigned work.
  • Maintain responsibility to keep scrap at minimum levels.
  • Follow all OSHA, safety, and environmental regulations.

Position Requirements

  • Must have valid FAA A&P License
  • Must have 6+ years of Aviation Maintenance expereince
  • Helicopter expereince is preferred but not required.

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $43.75/hr.
