Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for an A320 Quality Line Inspector to join our Manufacturing department based in Mobile, AL

A Quality Line Inspector will assist a group manager in providing an orderly flow of daily QLS activities in line with the production schedule.  The Quality Line Inspector will have an active role in leading meetings, reporting status of department activities throughout and at the end of shift.

• Execute technical inspections in the production process of the aircraft in the context of the authorization of manufacturer operation.

• Prepare and perform visual, incoming, first article, final inspections during aircraft manufacture for compliance for compliance with design specifications, customers and certification requirements.

• Document the technical inspections performed in the production orders SAP-based and the relevant SAL-based IT systems by inspection and complete other aircraft documents as well as prepare first article inspection reports.

• Support troubleshooting and participate in Quality Survey requests.

• Reviews production schedule and works to facilitate meeting schedules

• Contribute to internal Quality Gates through on-time point closure

• Active role in department preparation for aircraft milestones

• Report/escalate team blocking points throughout the shift

• Actively contribute to department current KPI’s in order to drive improvements

• Is an advocate for LEAN within group; encourages LEAN thinking and supports and assists in the implementation of LEAN initiatives/KAIZENS

• 3 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in an aviation company or equivalent with an emphasis on mechanical and/or structural components and assemblies.

• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.

• Knowledge of drawing systems, inspection plans, and inspection coordination.

• Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and tools used in the production line.

• Handling and use of inspection tools of the length measuring techniques (mechanical, optional, electrical)

• Previous experience in a mechanic or technician role is highly desirable

• Airline experience is desirable

• Must be able to use Google Applications & amp; SAP

• High school diploma or GED.

• Preferred: FAA Airframe & Powerplant License, an A&P license including inspection authorization is preferred.
