Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform structural repairs/alterations according to FARs, manufacturers technical publications, and drawings, within schedules and FAA standards.
- Manufacture form and molding blocks.
- Fabricate sheet metal parts with flanges and contouring.
- Produce and fabricate tooling and parts for component or aircraft part repair.
- Lay out and form doublers, stringers, angles, channels, zee sections, and hat sections.
- Part fabrication, layout, drilling, riveting, deburring, polishing, and installation of parts.
- Ensure close tolerances for interference fit fasteners.
- Replace bearings and bushings as needed.
- Operate heavy machine tools, including power brakes, drill presses, and shears.
- Execute assigned tasks from drawings, SRM, sketches, or verbal instructions.
- Complete daily tasks with precision and completeness.
- Work safely in accordance with OSHA and company procedures, and report unsafe conditions.
- Maintain a clean working area.
- Meet allocated target hours and schedule requirements.
- Occasionally perform fabrication and installation of Avionics STC systems, flight controls, and associated airframe systems.
- Maintain knowledge of current EPA regulations and applicable F.A.R.s.
- Adhere to all DFJ-WC employee work rules.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred, with additional courses in structural repair and alteration.
- Five (5) years of structural repair experience or equivalent.
- Ability to work from blueprints or sketches.
- F.A.A. “Airframe” license preferred.
- Must have required tools (See approved minimum list).
