Job Title: AOG MechanicJob Description
As a Mobile Airframe and Powerplant Technician, you will operate from a fixed off-site region and travel to customers’ aircraft to perform maintenance along with a variety of diagnostic and mechanical duties. You will be responsible for service centers within a 500-mile radius of Chicago, primarily working around Chicago, but may also be called to Rockford, Champaign, or Indiana. When not traveling, you will work from home assisting customer support facilities, specifically working on the Cirrus Turbine aircraft.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to company procedures.
- Comply with environmental health and safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain the highest levels of professionalism in conduct and appearance.
- Maintain all requirements and criteria set forth by the Cirrus Part 145 Repair Station Manual.
- Read and understand maintenance manuals and other technical documents to identify repair procedures.
- Perform mission-critical repairs, troubleshooting, and return to service work on AOG aircraft in the field in accordance with FAA regulations and all applicable technical data.
- Review and research aircraft records.
- Evaluate and interpret aircraft data.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical systems.
- Utilize proper diagnostic and test equipment.
- Inspect and replace defective aircraft parts using approved tooling.
- Assemble aircraft components and perform required measurement and testing.
- Inspect completed work for compliance and performance standards.
- Provide support in the execution of ongoing administration duties, including parts stock, invoicing, warranty claim submittal, and shipping parts cores to HQ.
- Perform monthly audits of the location and mobile service unit as applicable.
- Assist in ensuring the mobile service vehicle is maintained in a safe operating condition.
- Maintain personal “travel ready” status to ensure timely call-out response.
- Maintain the ability to assist as Factory Service Center and Tech Support resources as assigned.
Essential Skills- A&P certification
- 3+ years of General Aviation experience
- Experience with Cirrus aircraft
- Excellent customer-facing personality

Work Environment
Candidates will be provided with a van to travel to sites within a 500-mile radius of Chicago. Most work will be conducted in Chicago or from home. When not traveling or on-site, you will work remotely, assisting other service centers with technical questions. The fleet to be serviced consists of about 50 aircraft in Illinois. Shift hours are Monday to Friday, day shift, with the potential for call-ins. Regardless, you will be paid for 40 hours a week. Some travel for training is required and will be fully compensated.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
