Responsibilities:
Duties within the assigned area of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
Supporting production, inspection and certification personnel assigned to their work area by providing them with the required tools, training, time and work environment attitude necessary to perform their duties as required by the standards outlined in ACM Control Manual.Advising senior management if additional resources or material are needed to accomplish the required work.Coordinates and supervises the assignment of maintenance personnel to maximize production flow with TLs, Planners, AMEs and other personnel, as required.Record and discuss delays/incident/accident and any other related maintenance messages into the required maintenance system.Consult with Engineering, Maintenance Operations Control, System Operation Control, Operations Managers and other Team Leaders of aircraft faults.Ordering parts for operational reasons.Manage, plan and control aircraft Maintenance as it is performed.Manage resources to meet the assigned workload and corporate schedule.Ensuring AW and safety policies, processes and standards are adhered to.Carrying out mandatory work area inspections as defined by the Self-Audit process.Securing the assistance of the local Airworthiness personnel should an AW conflict arise between maintenance personnel.Ensuring personnel hold appropriate technical qualifications (e.g. qualification list, training records) and training is current.Coordinating any contract work, liaising with external organizations and monitoring subcontracted work.Ensuring that personal roles and responsibility training is current and meets the same requirements as those under the TL’s supervision.Ensuring the required inspections and certifications are made with respect to work accomplished.Maintaining production area files and records.Maintaining any local area qualification lists (e.g. welding TL maintains welding tests planning schedule and monitors welder activities per Materials and Processes [M&P] Manual.Ensuring that personnel who become qualified to carry out MRs are recommended for certification authority.In regard to accident investigations:preventing secondary accidents.taking care of injured employees as appropriate.initiating emergency response as required.securing accident scenes (e.g. do not remove, move and/or tamper with evidence).conducting severity assessments.contacting union H&S representative per local terms of reference.contacting Regulatory Compliance per severity requirements (i.e. bump system).conducting accident investigations.processing accident reports.contacting applicable manager per local procedures.contacting family of injured employee if employee is required to go to hospital. contacting ESDC as required.
QualificationsTechnician/College degree in aircraft maintenance, mechanics, or electronics.Minimum 10 years of proven aircraft maintenance experience, Boeing fleet experience preferable.Previous experience in leading or supervising others, an asset.Possession of a Brazil ANAC CHT CEL+GMP+AVI or a Transport Canada AME M2 license is Mandatory.Must have exercised the privileges of the Brazilian license for at least 2 years, applicable for the ANAC holders.Must qualify to hold an Aircraft Certifying Authority under a Transport Canada approved maintenance organization.Possession of valid Brazilian driver license.Able to successfully pass the pre-employment qualifying exam, physical and a security check as well.Ability to work in a team concept as facilitator, focus on the team success. Be able to work independently.Be available to work days, evenings or nights including weekends and holidays. Proficiency with PC (MS Office).Must be able to obtain Airport badge pass.Must hold a valid passport.Good verbal and written communication skills.Sound technical and working knowledge of processes, procedures and Information Technology Systems relative to the specific work area.Demonstrated ability to work in a stressful environment.Have organizational skills.Thorough understanding of Line Maintenance aircraft check procedures, an asset.Employees in this role conduct safety-critical work and as such, Air Canada medical standards must be met in order to qualify for the role. Candidates will be subject to a medical evaluation, including a drug and alcohol test and are expected to be free of any intoxicating substances.Be a Brazilian citizen or have landed immigrant status.
