Position Profile
We are currently recruiting for an Aircraft Maintenance Technician- (Licensed & Unlicensed) with Dash 8 / Q 400 Experience to join our team in Calgary, AB. We offer a competitive compensation package including medical benefits and RRSP matching with day shifts - Monday – Friday 0600-1430.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Qualified to perform systems installation tasks under the supervision of a licensed Maintenance Technician in a AMO environment
- Responsible to the assigned leader and have ability to take direction verbally and through printed media
- Basic knowledge of Standard Practices and Mechanics Systems, accurately interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, system schematics, engineering orders, test documents, manufacturer’s installation manuals
- Have a basic understanding of other aircraft systems i.e., hydraulic, flight controls and major components
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Mechanics systems and equipment, including powerplant, flight control, hydraulic, landing gear and electrical
- Perform system checks and inspections to ensure Mechanics systems are in compliance with industry and safety standards
- Keep accurate records of all work performed and maintain inventory of tools and equipment
- Maintain a clean work area and alert the leadership team of any safety concerns; take immediate action or report immediately any unsafe conditions
- Responsible for ensuring both accuracy and traceability of parts removed or installed on Aircraft
- Perform other work as assigned and willing to work shift work
- Properly utilize Maintenance test equipment to perform systems tests. Properly utilize and maintain Mechanics hand tools to perform installations and repairs
- Safely operate ground support equipment, i.e., Power carts, lifts (when properly trained), etc. as required
Education & Experience
- Must have 5+ years’ experience working on the Dash 8
- Shall hold or working towards a current AME “M” Transport Canada license or related experience
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
- Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Internet
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Experience with all De Havilland Aircraft of Canada products consider an asset
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work Monday – Friday 0600-1430
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to acquire a Transport Canada issued Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
