Position Overview:

We are seeking an Aircraft Mechanic I to support H-1 aircraft maintenance operations at MCAS Camp Pendleton. This role involves performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and repairing various aircraft components to ensure mission readiness.

Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and repairs on airframes, engines, landing gear, flight surfaces, and control systems.
• Troubleshoot aircraft malfunctions, including hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and fuel systems.
• Conduct corrosion control, structural repairs, and aircraft modifications using specialized tools and equipment.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, engineering data, and manufacturer service bulletins.
• Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories.
• Conduct preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
• Maintain aircraft logs, records, and documentation in compliance with NAMP requirements.
• Support aircraft movement, towing, and flight line operations.
• Adhere to the Tool Control Program, Hazardous Materials Management Program, and FOD Prevention Program.

• Minimum 3 years of O-Level maintenance experience on military aircraft (H-1 platform preferred).
• Familiarity with CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) maintenance programs.
• Experience with structural, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical aircraft repairs.
• Ability to operate power tools, shears, rivet guns, drills, and welding equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, engine servicing, and component replacement.
• Understanding of technical directives, safety procedures, and maintenance manuals.
• Active Secret Clearance (MANDATORY)
• Licensed Forklift Operator (preferred but not required).

Preferred Certifications & Training:

• Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) or Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) for airframes, power plants, avionics, or electrical systems.
• Hydraulic Contamination Control Training.
• Support Equipment (SE) Operator Training & Licensing.
• NAMP Compliance and Maintenance Control experience.
