Description:The Aircraft Mechanic I troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems. This mechanic repairs replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills. This worker reads and interprets maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of Aircraft experience in Unit or Intermediate Level Aviation maintenance required

Must be proficient in reading and interpreting Schematics, Engineering Drawings, Technical Manuals, and Technical Orders

Must be flexible to work Extended/Multiple Shifts and Travel as required to meet Customer mission needs

Candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent

Ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. DoD Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
Desired Skills:
- Rotary Wing aviation maintenance experience preferred

- Experience with MH-60 Aircraft, Flight Control Rigging

- Documented Military/DOD Service School or Civilian/FAA equivalent training

- Current & Active Secret Level Security Clearance Preferred, or active within last two years

- Must provide own basic hand tools and toolbox

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
