Job Summary:

We are seeking highly skilled Aircraft Mechanic II personnel to support the H-1 aircraft maintenance program at MCAS Camp Pendleton. This role involves performing moderate to complex aircraft maintenance, repairs, and modifications on airframes, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems. The Aircraft Mechanic II will also assist in engineering changes, damage assessments, and process improvements while ensuring compliance with all technical directives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs, inspections, and maintenance on aircraft engines, sheet metal, structural components, and powertrain systems.
• Troubleshoot airframe and power plant systems to identify and resolve malfunctions.
• Maintain and modify aircraft components, including flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fuel systems.
• Interpret technical documentation, blueprints, and manufacturer manuals to conduct repairs.
• Provide input for Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC), Estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD), and Modification Work Orders (MWO).
• Lead teams through complex maintenance tasks and inspect the work of Mechanic I and II personnel.
• Ensure compliance with Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) policies and procedures.
• Use specialized aircraft tools and equipment, including torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, and sheet metal brakes.
• Accurately document maintenance actions in aircraft logs and records.
• Prioritize workloads to meet project deadlines and mission objectives.

Additional Information:

• This position is part of an RFP government contract proposal for the Air PMA-276 LAAMP program.
• Employment is contingent upon contract award.

• Active Secret Clearance (mandatory).
• Extensive experience in aircraft maintenance and repair (H-1 aircraft preferred).
• Strong understanding of aircraft mechanical systems, troubleshooting, and repair procedures.
• Ability to interpret technical publications and maintenance directives.
• Basic knowledge of electrical theory and avionics principles.
• Familiarity with sheet metal modifications, structural repairs, and general aircraft maintenance.
• Experience using specialized aircraft tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Prior experience with H-1 aircraft maintenance operations.
• Specialized expertise in sheet metal, avionics, electrical systems, or other aircraft disciplines.
• Certification in aviation maintenance quality assurance or maintenance control.
