We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic III (Sheet Metal) to lead a team of skilled technicians in performing aircraft maintenance, inspections, and modifications for the F-15 System Program Office. This role is integral to accomplishing the Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) 1F-15E-926 Anti-Jam GPS Antenna modifications on F-15E model aircraft at Mountain Home Air Force Base, ID.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise maintenance teams, providing technical guidance and inspecting work performed by subordinate mechanics.
- Perform and oversee complex repairs and modifications to aircraft structures, engines, and systems, including flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fuel systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues using advanced technical knowledge and published technical data.
- Interpret and apply engineering drawings, blueprints, and maintenance directives.
- Maintain and update aircraft logs and records.
- Use specialized tools and equipment, including torque wrenches, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and more.
- Support structural/mechanical engineers and customers by offering technical expertise.
- Organize and prioritize workloads to meet tight schedules and delivery deadlines.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Aircraft Mechanic III
(Sheet Metal): Sheet Metal Experience: Minimum of eight years total experience in aircraft maintenance support with two years on F-15 aircraft as a sheet metal mechanic. The Contractor shall have the skill to remove and replace F-15 aircraft structural parts and accessories/components and the skill to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications and drawings. Experience in performing or supervising functions such as fabricating, repairing, assembling, or installing aircraft metals, plastics, fiberglass, composites, or honeycomb parts; and corrosion identification, removal, and applying coatings and markings is required. Leadership skills and supervision experience required.
Sheet Metal Knowledge: The Contractor shall have the ability to follow and accomplish tasks in accordance with existing published technical data. The Contractor shall have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications required to accomplish maintenance tasks and modifications. Knowledge is mandatory of structural assembly and modification engineering drawings; concepts and application of maintenance directives; meaning of symbols used in structural and mechanical diagrams, blueprints; using and interpreting measuring devices; and proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
Other: The Contractor shall have the ability to assist in F-15E aircraft jacking/de-jacking, aircraft hydraulic system bleeds, and hydraulic landing gear operational checks. Normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123, Medical Examinations and Standards is mandatory for this specialty.
WAGE: $39.41
Additional Rate: Health and Welfare of $5.36 for each hour worked to be used for medical expenses/health benefits, any unused funds will roll over into a 401k at the end of the year.
