Job Title: Aircraft Mechanic (Unlicensed + Licensed) BCJob Description
The Component Mechanic is responsible for carrying out disassembly, assembly, inspection, and test stand work on aeronautical components/accessories, including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, fuel & oil, and pneumatic components/accessories.
Responsibilities
- Implement work plans by following instructions from various sources.
- Use test and measuring equipment to carry out work.
- Recognize and report defects on parts, assemblies, engines, and accessories.
- Certify correctness of work and perform preliminary inspections.
- Raise and create repair documents and order parts.
Essential Skills- AME M or E Canadian diploma, Transport Canada approved certification, or ICS equivalent.
- Canadian citizenship or permanent residency, or a valid work permit for at least 3 years.
- Recognized apprenticeship to Transport Canada standards.
- Minimum of one year of experience in engine or component maintenance, repair, and overhaul processes.
- Experience with at least one of these engine types: CF6-50/80, V2500, CFM56, CFM LEAP, PW2000.
- Good knowledge and understanding of main standard inspection and repair processes used in engine repair.
- Ability to perform work on computer systems using standard Electronic Data Processing (EDP) software programs (Word, Excel, Access, PDF formatting).
- Intermediate knowledge of SAP.
- Ability to provide technical advice to others.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience with Avionics/Electrical Harnesses is an asset.
- Experience with Balancing (Compressor, shafts, etc.) is an asset.

Work Environment
Shift hours are from 6 AM to 2 PM and 2 PM to 10 PM on a rotating basis. Currently hiring for the 6 AM to 2 PM shift with 70 of employees on the AM shift and 30 on the PM shift. Rotation occurs every two weeks, although it is not currently in practice. The workplace is unionized, with union dues of $68-$70 per month.
