Job Description

The contractor will be working on an aircraft conversion program and modifications, primarily focusing on Q400 conversion to aerial firefighting aircraft. The role involves basic structural work including repairing and maintaining tears and cracks in the structural body of the Q400, corrosion repair, riveting, and overhaul of components. The technician must be willing to work in different divisions and facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural repairs and maintenance on the Q400 aircraft.
• Conduct corrosion repair and riveting.
• Overhaul aircraft components.
• Assemble tanks and work on an assembly line, which includes repetitive tasks.
• Work on airframe modifications, tank installations, and provisions for fairings.
• Perform major modifications and remove interiors as required.
• Reduce weight on wing modifications in the conversion department.
• Collaborate with a team and report to team leads or managers.

• 2-3+ years of structures experience (no license required).
• 2-3 years of MRO experience.
• Versatile experience in both heavy and line maintenance.
• Q400 experience is an asset.
• Proficiency in using basic tools.

• Experience with Dash 8 aircraft, especially Dash 8 Q400.
• Experience with Turbo Props (e.g., Turbo Commanders) and RJ 85.
• Experience with 737 aircraft and helicopters is a plus.
• Manufacturing experience.

Work Environment

The team consists of 27 people, working closely with team leads and managers to ensure aircraft functionality. Basic tooling is required. You will be part of a smaller team of 13 people. The minimum contract term is 3 months. Work shifts are primarily Monday to Friday with 10-hour days, though 8-hour days are possible. Shifts run from 6:00 am to 4:15 pm, with occasional overtime on Saturdays.

The pay range for this position is $52.50 - $58.00
